Nebraska's Safe-Haven Law

I told my students about this Nebraska law and how parents are literally dropping off their teenage kids. One student responded, "Is there a place where we can drop off our parents?" Man, that was funny. It reminded me of why I wanted to be a teacher. . . :)

I've actually been reading about what's been going on in Nebraska with something akin to a feeling of inevitability. With all the shows on tv trying to help "desperate" parents, the Nebraska situation was a tragedy waiting to happen. With the lack of authority a lot of parents show, it's no wonder there'd be children in need of a place to drop their parents off.
